Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens amusement park features fun rides. A visit here is one of the most famous experiences you can have in Denmark. For many decades, tourists and locals go to the park for fun, shopping, dining, and culture. This park in the middle of the city has around thirty rides, concert venues, a big children’s play area, a beautiful garden, shops, casinos, and over forty restaurants.
Tivoli is not only popular in the city but also the whole of Denmark. It is one of the world’s oldest amusement park which was opened in 1843. Concerts and Rides
All the rides in the amusement park are suitable for people of all ages. There are posts of the minimum age and height requirements for the rides. Children who are at least three years old can enjoy solitary rides. Tivoli posts health warnings for some wilder rides. If you visit with small children, go to the Petzi world play area where your little ones can take part in different activities for free.
Moreover, Tivoli is also a significant cultural venue. It has hosted the biggest classical music festival in Scandinavia with more than fifty concerts every summer. Free musical concerts take place on Friday nights along with some live music events throughout the year.
The Best Time to Visit
Although Tivoli Gardens does not get super busy, it is quieter there on weekdays during school term. Often, rides open from noon with early afternoon usually quieter than late afternoon or early evening. If you are interested in rides, the park presents itself at its most beautiful at night when thousands of bulbs light up the park into a romantic cityscape.
Admission Tickets
Tivoli’s basic admission tickets do not include any rides and unlimited-ride tickets don’t include admission. Often, package deals are available; however, savings are minimal. For the admission ticket, you will need to spend DKK130 per day for a visitor 8 years and older. Kids who are 7 years old and younger enter the park for free. Keep in mind that admission tickets can be priced up to DKK200 during the high season after 19:00 on Fridays. Park rides are priced individually which can range from DKK25 to DKK75. But, you can choose to buy a full all-rides ticket for DKK240 to access all rides and save money.
